Snowwwww

Just some snow photos before I head off to Paris today! Those Ilse Jacobsen boots have been a lifesaver, definitely recommend them for snowy weather- I believe you can buy them from Solestruck.

I've lost a couple of readers recently- it's amazing how quickly you lose readers after an absence! I'm sorry for being a terrible blogger I know I'm being shit with answering questions and comments, but at the moment, holidays and boyfriend time are taking precedence. When I'm back in Aus, I will be able to spend a lot more time :)

I love you all! Hope you're having great holidays!!

Weatherman

This editorial in I-D Winter 2010 is stunningly styled and beautifully representative of renaissance portraiture- I would also kill for that Rick Owens leather.

Question- does anyone know what is happening with UK January sales and the VAT increase?

Aloha Doha

I have a very good reason for my blogging absence!

Heathrow decided to close while I was halfway between Melbourne and Doha, Qatar, meaning I spent 48 hours in the middle east. It also meant I had to change my flight to Gatwick, so no Mulberry at Duty Free! The Mulberry in London didn't have the colour I wanted, either. Fairly sure something is working against me getting this bag. Tips to survive Doha airport-
  • Do not have the expectation that any staff will listen to you, ever.
  • Do not have the expectation that any staff will let you know what is going on, at all.
  • Do not expect that your hotel wake-up call will actually happen.
  • Do not expect that after your alcohol is confiscated at customs, that you will ever get it back.
  • Do not expect any local men to speak to you with anything more than a grunt and a pointed finger.
  • DO expect to find your luggage sitting in a pile on the ground after you have been told it was on the plane.
  • Find a group of awesome fellow delayed travellers and form a tight crew to prevent tears.

I also have very sad news. Due to excessive colouring, heat damage and drying from being in the plane, my hair has utterly shit itself and I will be cutting it all off today. I'm almost crying just thinking about it now.

Apologies in advance for delayed replies to comments- I'm in holiday mode :)

Thanks Hayley!

I would like to say a hugggeee thanks to Hayley. Hayley is an ex-melbournite that has recently moved to Sydney, and I've been a quiet stalker-esque follower of her blog for months now. She puts together the most awesome colour and texture combinations (often the Melbourne black on black on black) that make her an awesome representative for Australian fashion.

I just won $500 in a competition on Hayley's blog, which means... dun dun dunnn

I can now justify walking into Mulberry at Heathrow airport in 2 days, and walk out with a Bayswater.

THANK YOU HAYLEY!!

Spewwww

This is a very short post, with the entire point being that...

THESE SHOES ARE FUCKING AWFUL.

I am sick to death of tacky shit being popular simply because it is created by top-end labels, and then everyone wanting a pair. Hooker barbie, much?

AND THEN...

I don't even know how to describe how much I want to throw up on these knockoffs.

If anyone understands how these shoes are "chic" can you please explain it to me?

Sunday

I have excellent friends.

SORRY!

photos by me, as all I have been thinking about for the past 24 hours is paris, shopping in paris, buying a coat in paris, which shoes I will wear in Paris, what I will eat in Paris, etc etc

I've been posting a little less regularly recently but life has been HECTIC with the school
term finishing, preparing for my trip and being generally unbearably stressed. I have had an excellent weekend however, that I will blog about this week. Outfit posts etc coming up :)

I've made a new Twitter account with the same name as this blog, so if you followed @tarantulatrash, please delete it! I am now using @photoboothkllr.

I'm so pumped that you guys are reading this blog and have the utmost appreciation for all of my followers and stunning people I've met :) I do have a small request- If you are going to comment on a blog post, please make it relevant to my blog and don't use it for self promotion! If I like your blog, I'll follow it, you don't need to ask. As a n00b and unaware of blogging etiquette, I admit I did this when I first started out- it hasn't taken me long to realise it's a little rude and just generally irritating. I don't think blogging is about getting a whole lot of followers, and the self promotion sort of reminds me of myspace back when everyone was 16 and wanted 100,000 000 friends.

I've seen a couple of other posts floating around about this. What do you guys think? Do you accept comments that are irrelevant to your post and obviously there for the sole purpose of self-promotion?

Love and all that shit x
