I have a very good reason for my blogging absence!
Heathrow decided to close while I was halfway between Melbourne and Doha, Qatar, meaning I spent 48 hours in the middle east. It also meant I had to change my flight to Gatwick, so no Mulberry at Duty Free! The Mulberry in London didn't have the colour I wanted, either. Fairly sure something is working against me getting this bag. Tips to survive Doha airport-
- Do not have the expectation that any staff will listen to you, ever.
- Do not have the expectation that any staff will let you know what is going on, at all.
- Do not expect that your hotel wake-up call will actually happen.
- Do not expect that after your alcohol is confiscated at customs, that you will ever get it back.
- Do not expect any local men to speak to you with anything more than a grunt and a pointed finger.
- DO expect to find your luggage sitting in a pile on the ground after you have been told it was on the plane.
- Find a group of awesome fellow delayed travellers and form a tight crew to prevent tears.
I also have very sad news. Due to excessive colouring, heat damage and drying from being in the plane, my hair has utterly shit itself and I will be cutting it all off today. I'm almost crying just thinking about it now.
Apologies in advance for delayed replies to comments- I'm in holiday mode :)
